Aphids are relatively easy to spot, check the underside of your leaves and nodes of stems for tiny oval shaped bugs (clear, white,, green, red or brown in colour) - visible to the naked eye. Growing outdoors can be especially prone to aphid infestation as they love munching on most soft bodied plants.
Natural predators such as lady bugs east aphids.
Spray buddi for aphids on the underside of the leaves and stems and physically remove the aphids with tweezers or cotton wool swabs- gently as not to damage the leaf structure. Watch out- these sneaky pests also like to get into the buds themselves, which can be quite tough to resolve.
Keep a close eye on your plants regularly to avoid any serious damage. *tip: if you spot lots of ants this may be a sign you have aphids.
